Social Learning Theory & VoiceThread (VT) Lesson.

This was my first time creating and implementing a Voicethread lesson for my class. This lesson was done for a few students who were absent from school. Please check it out. It was a little challenging to create because I have to find the right content to suit the age of the class. Also I recorded the content over and over until I was contented. The lesson is about the basic geometric shape and organic shapes found in our environment. The first part of the VoiceThread is a video about basic geometric shapes followed by slides of pictures in which I described the different types of shapes. Students will then create a drawing base on the shapes that see in their environment. The url https://voicethread.com/share/10387886/

Constructivist Learning Theory, Teaching, and Learning

Many learning theories can be used to integrate technology more effectively in today’s schools. Technology has changed the way we teach and the way we learn, there is a very close relationship between technology, constructivism and instructional strategies that I must consider when I am teaching, the implementation of each benefits the other. As an educator using these strategies will help with learning in the 21st-century classroom. My scholarly source states that constructivism suggests that learners construct knowledge out of their experiences ( Naylor & Keogh, 1999). In other words, learning happens in context and students create much of what they understand and learn as a function of their experiences. (Orey 2015) stated that students learning is an active process in which they use their sensory input to construct meaning out of information given. An example of this I can address to similar to what Dr. Orey spoke of video file (Laureate Education 2015c) is that my studen

Virtual Field Trip Experience

The graphic organizer used to teach a group of 5th-grade student at an Elementary school. They were given the topic “The Pyramids” with a few essentials question that they would have to critically analyze some of the resources used in the days the pyramids were made. The students came up with a lot of things while they work in groups of four and then the most suitable answers were chosen. A graphic organizer was then made to show their findings. After this, they went on a virtual field trip where they explore the Pyramids of Giza. Virtual Field trips I found to be an amazing learning experience. They provide students with the opportunity to actively participate in education, offering learning possibilities that aren’t readily available in the classroom. It is not always practical or possible to take students on a regular field trip some are due to tight budgets, the location of the place, time and resource can keep students school bound therefore virtual field trip filled th

Behaviorist Learning Theory, Instructional Strategies, and Technology Tools

Behaviorist learning theory, a philosophy that believes a well-rounded understanding of the relationship between stimulus and response can promote desired behaviors within an individual (Standridge, 2002.) With this said teacher have to let student practice good behavior while in the classroom if they want the student to learn. The relationship among behaviorism instructional strategies and technology tool are like the necessary condition in which educators must teach 21st-century learners. All three work together when teaching students. For behavior in my school is one of the most challenging things that a teacher would face five days a week. Therefore I have to manage behavior in my class before I can teach the students. There are many ways I can use behaviorism to control students in my classroom. Dr. Orey (Laureate Education 2015a) made mention of a strategy that some teacher use in school, I also use it in my classroom. It is a behavior chart that is made up of differe

The Impact of Technology

Let me begin by saying I enjoyed doing this course, it has opened my eyes to lots of things in my practice as it relates to the uses of technology in the classroom. There is no doubt that technology has changed the classroom and the society that I live in today. I know the technologies are there but was still in my own way of teaching and using the basic technology that I got in my classroom. Reflecting back on this course the media has helped me to identify materials and also highlighted technologies that I must include in my classroom as it geared toward teaching and learning and improving my technological skills. The resources provided for this course is of good content the videos of teachers using technologies and web links as it helps to understand the students I teach and the environment that I lived in who embraces the uses of technology in the classroom which will help students to become digital literacy and lifelong learners (ISTE). As I went through the course and im
