Utilizing Blogs in the Classroom

A blog  is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary (Richard 2010). It is a place to express yourself and it’s a place where one going to update on a regular basis. A place to share your thoughts creativity and your passions. A blog would serve an excellent purpose in the classroom. It can help with writing and reading skills. It’s the use of technology and what better way to show case their ability for diverse learners. I have some students that come to my class that never speaks due to them being shy or bashful. Blogging would allow these students to have a voice and learn communication skills. I am an elementary school Art teacher. I would use blogging as a way to keep the lines of communication open between parents and myself. I would also use blogging as an instructional tool to aid in effective communication and even a way to informally assess students. The Impact of Technology

Let me begin by saying I enjoyed doing this course, it has opened my eyes to lots of things in my practice as it relates to the uses of technology in the classroom. There is no doubt that technology has changed the classroom and the society that I live in today. I know the technologies are there but was still in my own way of teaching and using the basic technology that I got in my classroom. Reflecting back on this course the media has helped me to identify materials and also highlighted technologies that I must include in my classroom as it geared toward teaching and learning and improving my technological skills.        Behaviorist learning theory, a philosophy that believes a well-rounded understanding of the relationship between stimulus and response can promote desired behaviors within an individual (Standridge, 2002.) With this said teacher have to let student practice good behavior while in the classroom if they want the student to learn. The relationship among behaviorism instructional strategies and technology tool are like the necessary condition in which educators must teach 21st-century learners. All three work together when teaching students. For behavior in my school is one of the most challenging things that a teacher would face five days a week.
